Fence Installer – Team Member (Entry-Level, Hourly)

Overview

Midwest Fencing Company is hiring a full-time Fence Installer (Team Member) to work directly with a foreman and crew completing residential and commercial fencing projects throughout the Kansas City metro. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, building things, and working outdoors in the field. Professionalism around clients, strong teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

Meet Location: Grandview, MO (employees meet at the shop each morning before heading to job sites)

Pay & Benefits

• $18–$23/hour, based on experience and production levels
• PTO and paid holidays available after 30 days of employment
• Company shirts provided
• Required PPE provided (as needed), excluding work boots

Schedule Expectations

• Typical start time is 6:30–7:00 a.m. (varies by season)
• 10–12 hour shifts are common
• 5–6 days/week may be required depending on workload
• This is a seasonal/weather-impacted industry; weather may affect the schedule
• Overtime is not guaranteed and may not be consistently available due to the seasonal nature of the work

Responsibilities

• Support the foreman and crew with daily fence installation tasks
• Carry and stage materials, tools, and equipment (heavy lifting required)
• Assist with layout, digging, post setting, concrete work, and installing panels/rails/pickets
• Assist with gate installation and jobsite cleanup
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site while working around clients and their property
• Follow direction, learn quickly, and contribute to efficient production

Requirements (Must Have)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable transportation to meet at the Grandview shop each morning
• Works well with others, takes direction, and communicates respectfully
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Ability to work outdoors full-time in varying conditions (heat, cold, wind, mud)
• Physically capable of lifting/carrying heavy materials and performing labor throughout the day

Preferred (Not Required)

• Prior experience in construction, fencing, landscaping, concrete, or general labor
• Familiarity with basic hand/power tools and jobsite safety
